Come Help Change The World!

When our Lord first revealed the vision for campus Crusade for Christ to me, I believed Him for great and mighty things.  But I never imagined the pathways His leading would unveil.  How could I have ever dreamed that, through the efforts and prayers of ordinary people like you and me, He would work in most countries of the world to bring hundreds if millions into His kingdom?

When God gave me the vision for this ministry, He also gave Vonette the heart to respond. Since that day, she has been a vital part of everything we have done.  She plays a major role in much of my decision-making and in helping establish godly policies, and I consider her the co-founder of Campus Crusade for Christ.  Over the years, she has been essential in developing many important strategies, including the training for staff, our emphasis on evangelism, and the ministries worldwide prayer thrust.  In the process, Vonette and I have not only drawn closer to Christ, but also to each other.  I continually thank God for the many wonderful years of marriage and fruitful ministry we have enjoyed together.

As our Lord said, the fields are ripe unto the harvest.  There is growing evidence that revival fires are starting to flare across America and around the world.  Millions of people are realizing the futility and emptiness of life apart from God.  More people are turning to God today than ever before in human history.  As we humble ourselves before God and obey is command to share Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit, I am convinced that revival fires will burn even brighter in the days ahead.

Your world is primed and ready for the good news of Jesus Christ.  But, as the apostle Paul asked, “How can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him?  And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?” (Romans 10:14, TLB). There is no nobler calling, no better investment of one’s life, than telling others how to know God personally and enjoy Him forever.

I urge you to surrender your will to God and become slaves of Jesus Christ, our Lord.  You will find the excitement, joy, and sense of purpose that my associates and I have discovered!   He has promised that nothing we do or say will be wasted when it is done in the power of the Holy Spirit and in line with the principles and commands in His Word.  I have found that promise to be absolutely true.

The best days for this ministry—and I trust for your life as well—are yet to come.  God wants to share His work with you.  Ask Him to reveal what part He would have you take in helping to fulfill His Great Commission.  You will never regret for a moment that you willingly started on the adventure of a lifetime to come help change the world!
