God is Merciful

Because GOD is merciful... He forgives me of my sins when I sincerely confess them.

"The Lord is full of tenderness and mercy" James 5:11 Discover God Study Bible (NLT)

God shows you mercy because He compassionately cares about you. The Bible is filled with examples of how Jesus was moved with compassion and acted to help those who were sick, suffering, and in need.

All humanity benefits from God's mercy to some degree. He demonstrates his mercy both by withholding punishment we so rightfully deserve and by showering us with blessings we do not deserve.

But God also has a sovereign mercy He shows to those who are His. To experience God's full mercy, we must repent of our sin and self-centeredness, and accept God's forgiveness.

God wants us in turn to be merciful to others. In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus declared, "God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy" (Matthew 5:7).

Your loving heavenly Father is committed to your well-being. Out of His great compassion, He generously bestows on you His grace and mercy.

"Let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most." Hebrews 4:16 Discover God Study Bible (NLT)
