There are certain things money can’t buy.  Things like love, contentment, or a child.

As a young girl, Stephanie played with dolls, fantasizing about being a mom.  When she and David married, it never occurred to her that they might have trouble becoming parents.  But after several years, many medical tests, and numerous doctor visits, they were still unable to have a baby.

Stephanie says, “You would think that after many years I’d be used to a monthly disappointment, but the grief and pain never cease.  I’ve read numerous books, all of which assure me that I’m not alone. Still, sometimes I feel like I am all alone in the struggle.

“At times I just want God to send me a telegram:

Dear Stephanie,

At this time I’ve decided not to give you children.

You can quit bugging Me about it.

Love,

      God”

Stephanie knows that God doesn’t work that way.  So she continues to pray, wait, and hope.

She says, “I have no guarantees that God will ever allow us to have children of our own, or that we’ll ever be able to adopt.  But this I know—He loves us.  Our empty arms long to be filled with a child, but we must trust God to fill them with Himself instead.”

Stephanie has learned that God can meet her need, and she’s learned to wait on Him.  In her relationship with Him, she’s foud contentment.

True satisfaction can come only from as intimate relationship with God.  Times of need can help show us God’s heart and help us trust Him more.  There’s no better place to begin learning than in His Word.  Some have called it His love letter to His children.

I know the pain of disappointment.  I know the frustration of waiting.  I know, too, the deep satisfaction that comes only from God.  Let Him fill your empty arms today with His love.

“I will make an everlasting covenant with them:  I will never stop doing them good and will assuredly plant them in this land with all my heart and soul”.  Jeremiah 32:40,41

Are you experiencing disappointment?  God is there to comfort you.  Spen time with Him in prayer.  Share your heart with Him and let Hi Words comfort you.  Allow His Spirit to minister to you and your disappointment will begin to fade away.
