Experience Teachable Moments

"I'm so stupid!" "I can't do anything right!"

Your children will give you all kinds of insight as to how they view themselves this week. Listen for the clues...do they see themselves as God's masterpiece? Capitalize on these moments and remind them that they are a masterpiece of the King of Kings! Encourage them in their strengths (God given design) and talk about how their weaknesses are opportunities to see God work!

Going to see the King!

The night before you go to church, capitalize on the opportunity to talk about the amazing privilege they have in going to God's House to worship the King of Kings! Many churches are more casual now days, but you might want to encourage your kids to 'dress for the King' one Sunday. If your church is more formal, it's important for your children to know Who they're dressing up for. It's not for Mom and Dad, it's not because of what others think... it's for the King of Kings, to show Him the honor and respect He deserves!

Dealing with Disappointment

When things don't go as planned remind your children about the story of Joseph and encourage everyone to focus on looking for God's plan rather than the spoiled plans. He's in control and His plan is the best!!
