Day 3: God Knows You Through and Through

Because GOD KNOWS EVERYTHING, I will go to Him with all my questions and worries.

Read or quote the memory verse:  In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. - Colossians 2:3, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

Let's start by reading an incredible verse in the Bible. Jeremiah 1:5 says:

I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb.   - Jeremiah 1:5, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

Before you were even born, God knew you. No one can know you better that He does! He understands you perfectly because He knows you perfectly!

Share a time when you felt misunderstood by someone like a friend, mom, dad, or a teacher.

Read Sarah's story and see if you relate to it:

Sara and Her Leaping Catastrophe

Sarah felt like no one understood her. She was always getting in trouble. What made it worse was that it seemed like her older sister never got in trouble. "That's because you get into enough trouble for the both of us," Kate would say with a sickeningly sweet smile. Kate, Sarah knew, was not as perfect as everyone thought. One of Sarah's greatest challenges in life was to be still. Her body always wanted to move, and the bigger the movement the better. Sarah would dance her way through the grocery store, wriggle her way through the church service, and squirm her way through the school day. Her mom was constantly telling her to be still.

One day, Sarah went shopping with her mom. She was finishing a little ballet routine she made up in aisle 10 when, in the middle of a truly magnificent leap, she saw what she hadn't seen before, a display of paper towels right at the end of the aisle.

When Sarah came down from her truly magnificent leap, so did the paper towel display! Sitting amid the sea of paper towel rolls Sarah looked up at her frustrated Mother. "Sarah!" she exclaimed, "Why can't you just walk?"

Sarah had asked herself that question many times. "I'm sorry, Mom. But if only you knew how many times I want to leap and don't!"

Have you ever felt like Sarah? When?

God knows all about you. God knew you before you were even born. He knows your thoughts, what you do, your heart, your needs, and even your secrets. The rest of the world may not understand you, but God does!

Psalm 139:13,14 says:

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous--how well I know it.   - Psalm 139:13, 14, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

Who gave Sarah a love for dancing and an ability to make magnificent leaps? (God!)

Let's read more from Psalm 139:1-6.

O Lord, You have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I'm far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place Your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!   - Psalm 139:1-6, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

There isn't anything God doesn't know about you. Since God knows you this well, He understands you perfectly and has a plan that fits you perfectly.

Sarah's energy and enthusiasm will help her do amazing things when she grows up. The self-discipline her parents help her develop will allow her to use those gifts in ways that are constructive, not destructive (no more demolished paper towel displays!)

Listen to what God says in Jeremiah 29:11.

"I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

Have you ever thought about what His plan for you might be? Remember, God knew what you would be like before you were born and He still sent His Son to die for you because He loves you so much and wants you to be with Him forever! He knows everything about you, the good and the bad, and He still loves you that much!
