Day 1: How Much Does God Know?

Because GOD KNOWS EVERYTHING, I will go to Him with all my questions and worries.

Read or quote the memory verse:  In Him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. - Colossians 2:3, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

Think of a secret. Make sure it is something that no one else knows. Let's read from the Bible and see what God says about our secrets.

Read 1 John 3:20.

God is greater than our feelings, and He knows everything. - I John 3:20, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

How much does God know? (Everything.)

Can we keep any secrets from Him? (No.)

How does He know everything? Let's find out what the Bible has to say.

God knows the past. - John 1:1-3 says:

In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through Him and nothing was created except through Him.   - John 1:1-3., Discover God Bible, (NLT).

How does God know everything that has happened in the past? (He existed before anything else. He's seen it all!)

God knows the present. Proverbs 15:3 says:

The Lord is watching everywhere, keeping His eye on both the evil and the good.   - Proverbs 15:3, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

How does God know everything that is happening? (He is everywhere, all the time. He sees it all and He hears it all.)

God knows the future. Listen to what God says in Isaiah 42:9:

I will tell you the future before it happens.   - Isaiah 42:9, Discover God Bible, (NLT).

God doesn't need a time machine to take Him into the future to see what's going to happen. He already knows.

Did you know that 50 years ago there were only a few computers in the world, and the small ones were the size of a room? Imagine a computer the size of your living room! Believe it or not, that same computer would have less memory than a small laptop today! Electronic devices become outdated very quickly. There is always something better and faster on the way.

Unlike a computer, God's knowledge never becomes outdated. Imagine this: God is never going to learn something new. He already knows EVERYTHING! Talk about getting a hundred percent on every test!

How does the fact that God knows everything and you can't hide anything from Him make you feel?

Is there anything you're confused about that you would like to ask God about? What would you ask?

Let's pray about it together, and I'll see if the Bible gives us any answers for you.

(NOTE: If you need help with the answers your child gives, please email us and we will be happy to help!)
